SUMMARY:ICE - CIWEM Yorkshire & Humber Flooding Conference
DESCRIPTION:The regions of Yorkshire and Humber face a wide range of challenges in reducing flood risk in the future and particularly with the additional challenges associated with climate change\, including increasing rainfall and run-off\, as well as sea level rise in the coastal and estuarine regions. The main aim of this inaugural conference is to bring together all the key stakeholders engaged in flood risk management\, in the regions\, to discuss a range of solutions to reduce flood risk\, enhance resilience and adapt for future climate change impacts. \nThe conference will be opened by a leading national figure in the field\, engaged in flooding issues key to the regions\, followed by presentations on projects from a range of stakeholders\, including representatives from: the Environment Agency\, Yorkshire Water\, consulting engineering companies and the National Trust. Broad topics to be covered include: policy\, digital innovation in flood risk management\, resilient infrastructure and NFM (Natural Flood Management)\, asset management and optimising for net-zero carbon. \nThe conference will end with a Panel Question and Answer session\, with senior representatives from key organisations and institutions responding to questions from delegates.
